The ACT Brumbies will complete their Super Rugby preparation with a clash against the Waikato Chiefs at Sunshine Coast Stadium on February 14.
It will be an early test against a New Zealand side after Australian teams lost all 26 trans-Tasman derbies this year.
The Brumbies will be bolstered by the return of David Pocock and Christian Lealiifano next year, while the club is still searching for two outside backs to complete their roster.
There are several Western Force players still in contract limbo, but it is hoped the ARU will reach a decision on their future in the coming weeks.
The Brumbies will play trial matches against the Melbourne Rebels and the Chiefs, as well as playing at the Brisbane Global 10s on February 10-11.
“We are looking forward to playing the Chiefs in pre-season on the Sunshine Coast and it should be a good test against one of the best teams in the competition,” said Brumbies coach Dan McKellar said.
“With the Brisbane Global 10s being held the weekend before it made sense to fit in a full fifteen-a-side match and the Sunshine Coast provides the ideal venue for us to continue our pre-season as we head into Super Rugby.”
